Unfinished Temple

Description
The roofless temple at Nemawar, situated close to the siddhesvara temple is the only Vaishnava temple hitherto known of the stellate class of the bhumija style. it consists of a sanctum and Kapili resembling in plan and design the Siddhesvara. But its pitha mouldings are more ornate and taller since they are capped by gajathara and narathara and the vedibandha is also more lavishly decorated. Like the Siddhesvara its sanctum doorway shows seven sakhas but unlike the Siddhesvara displays Lakshmi on the lalata and Vaishnava door-guardians on the jambs attesting to its Vaishnava affiliation.
